A documentary film by Alyssa Carter

Women and families with diverse perspectives courageously share their personal stories of miscarriage, raising awareness to the nuances of pregnancy.

We aim to clarify misinformation, shine a light on healthcare challenges, examine our emotional attachment to "terms," and inspire empathy toward the one in four women who experience reproductive issues.

With resources for support in grief and healing, may this provide comfort in knowing you are not alone.

See below for more information on the women/families of TERMS.

Parents of Miscarriage

The subject of miscarriage is an all too relevant and relatable conversation. Many branches stem from this topic that starts with our cultural upbringing, including sex education, religious affiliation, and overall sense of community. Whether these experiences are positive or negative heavily influences our emotional attachment to pregnancy and life choices.

Some of the challenges we are currently seeing result from the spreading of misinformation from the beginning. Ignorance leads to ineffective policy, causing a lack of access to healthcare and systemic racism, sadly affecting communities of color more than others.

There is a huge divide caused by how we associate with the word abortion. We examine multiple definitions of this word, and why to some it means "murder," and to others it means "healthcare."

The goals of this documentary are to normalize and raise awareness of what is a sensitive-but-essential discussion, to help women/families at risk know that they are not alone, to clarify misinformation, to show how government policies are directly affecting the scope of reproductive healthcare, and help share resources of support for grief and healing.
